It is not unusual for people to feel tense or anxious before, during, and after treatment.1 Relaxation reduces anxiety and stress, decreases muscle tension, and has a positive effect on the nervous system.2 This downloadable podcast developed by Dame Professor Lesley Fallowfield will guide you through exercises designed to help you relax. These exercises are not difficult, but may take a little time to practise before the full benefit is experienced.3 Download this podcast for use in situations where you feel anxious.4 You can practise any relaxation technique once a day to begin with and progressively do more if you are able to.5,6,7
